Educational Inflexibility
There are specific educational inflexibility problems students must deal with. Some of these problems have been reported to be corrected by using the ProThink MotorVator™. These brain inflexibility problems deal with concentration and hand-eye coordination.
Concentration
Conceptual thinking is necessary even for the most basic functional tasks in life. Some students, however, have difficulty concentrating in the classroom. If they do not exercise their brain, their memory and concentration can be impaired by poor mental flexibility. This could lead to difficulty with knowledge generalization, problem solving, attention disorders, memory loss, and planning and organization impairment.
Difficulties with Hand-Eye Coordination:
- Must feel things to assist in interpretation.
- Eyes not used to “steer” hand movements (lack of orientation, placement of words or drawings on page).
- Writes crookedly, poorly spaced. Cannot stay on ruled lines.
- Misaligns both horizontal and vertical series of numbers .
- Uses hands or fingers to keep place on the page.
- Repeatedly confuses left-right directions.
Educational Benefits
- Following the numerals from left to right enhances the left-right concept and helps to develop the essential skill of reading.
- The use of numerals in conjunction with rhythmic beats effectively correlates music and arithmetic giving children the concept of sequence, and aids them in the formation of numerals.
- Improvement of listening skills is intensified as the students are given specific instructions. The changing of speed and randomness and the distraction of the music also heightens the skills of listening and coordination.
